All-Purpose Message
Board is available for your comments. What did you think
of this convention? You can put it in writing for all to see, if you
like.
25-Aug-1999
Films -
added blurb on Pitch Black which screens on Sunday.
Programming -
No Fantasia 2000.
Despite the radio, television and newspaper coverage, there will be no
showing of Disney's "Fantasia 2000" at the NASFiC. The convention
could not make an acceptable accomodation with Disney.
Film Contest
- Winners announced, will screen on Saturday.
Programming,
Day 3 etc. -
Conucopia Programming has moved J. Michael Straczynski's presentation to
Saturday at 1pm. Mr. Straczynski requested the move to accommodate a change
in his professional commitments, which prevented him from being able to be
at the convention on Sunday. In order to accomplish this we have moved
Jeff Walker's Trailer Park to Sunday at 11:30am. We would like to apologize
to our convention members for this late change and thank Mr. Straczynski and
Mr. Walker for working with us to come up with a plan that still allowed
both presentations to take place.
The last update to the main website is scheduled for Tuesday morning,
when I disconnect my computer from the net.
At that point, any future updates will be posted through our
"Daily Webzine" page. -Chaz
Programming etc. -
Due to a last minute change in his professional schedule, J. Michael
Straczynski has asked the convention to look into the possibility of
moving his panel to another day other than Sunday. The programming
committee is looking into this and will make an announcement as soon
as possible...
James P. Hogan contacted us this morning, 23-Aug-1999, and regrets that
he can not attend as he has had a family matter come up. We wish him
all the best, and will miss him at the convention...

Marriott
- Correction: we have extended hours for breakfast at the hotel
coffee shop, till 2 PM.
Day 1 etc. - started
making changes to reflect feedback from program participants
(especially those who won't be here as early as we thought, or whose
names were misspelled).
At-the Door Registration is the same
price as Pre-Registering. We also also have one-day memberships available
at the door for $50. I've seen this question come up twice just this
afternoon, so I'm posting the answer here: the cheapest price to get in is
a day-pass for $50. If you come back the next day, another $50 gets you
the whole rest of the convention. If you have any other questions, our
Registration page should have all the
answers.
Marriott
-
A little-known fact: when Cafe del Sol is closed between mealtimes, you
can still order up something to eat at the Lobby Bar. They have a limited
menu. In addition to the selection listed on their bar menu, you can also
get burgers and fries.
Furry Lounge
-
The Furry Lounge will be downstairs, in the "Desert Springs" room.
Anaheim Marriott
-
The hotel has agreed to keep their Coffee Shop, "Cafe del Sol," open
late on Thursday night. If business warrants, they'll do the same on Friday
and Saturday.
Fan Tables
- added note:
"This is a partial list. The final number of fan tables will be
determined shortly, after we do our final hotel walk-through and table
layout chart. We will be posting a complete list soon - watch this
space."
Programming
- Programming is now completed and the schedule will be posted
shortly. Check back in a few more days, or sign up
for the
Infobot News and we'll notify you
automatically.
Membership List,
Mailing List Sign-up,
E-mail Form, and
all other CGI stuff should be
working properly. (We changed servers and Unix flavors, and some things
needed a bit of tweaking.) If you've had trouble with these various
automatic features recently, please try them again; if they give you
any trouble, send the webmaster e-mail at
web99@99.nasfic.org
(fill-in e-mail form)
or web99@99.nasfic.org
(mailto).
