This year’s drive will take place Friday from 1 pm to 7 pm in the Orange County Ballroom Salon 3.

Each blood donor will receive:

A copy of a poster with art by Hugo award winning artist Bob Eggleton

A cool SF cloisonne heart pin

A chance to win one of many cool items which have been donated to the drive, including:

A personal caricature by Hugo award winning artist Frank Kelly Freas

A first printing of the first edition of the Star Trek Technical Manual

Free membership to LosCon 26 (Thanksgiving weekend Nov. 26-28, 1999)

Mike Hodel’s Hour 25 will be taping at the con, Friday at 6 p.m. in Room 315.

Mike Hodel’s Hour 25 is a weekly one-hour radio program focused on science fiction, computers, space and everything that interests people who read "The Literature of the Fantastic." It features reviews of books and computer hardware and software, provides news of interest to the science fiction community, and features interviews with authors, illustrators, filmmakers, scientists, astronauts, engineers, programmers and game designers. This program was started in 1974 and is now one of the longest-running topically-focused radio programs in the Southern California radio market.

It is broadcast Friday evenings at 11 p.m. by listener-sponsored radio station KPFK 90.7 FM. The show is hosted by the genial Warren James, whose background includes over 20 years of work in the aerospace field and who has programmed computers ranging from game machines to super computers.
